OUR STORY
It all started with a Blind Date…
August and Laurie were setup by her cousin Emily and her husband Blake McDonald.
They told Laurie that they had a great guy they would love for her to meet and that he had LOTS of animals. That got Laurie’s attention fast, because, what a dream? August decided to text Laurie on a Monday morning, at 7:00 am, to introduce himself and to ask her to dinner. Laurie didn’t respond for a while, little did he know she wasn’t a morning person. They talked and met at Billy G’s on a Tuesday. Thinking this would be a typical one hour first date, they looked down and were both surprised when they realized 3 hours had passed. So August walked Laurie to her car and they planned on their next date.
On their 4th date, Laurie helped August deliver his dog Fly’s puppies and the rest is history. They have been together ever since. Taking first big trips, lots of concerts and having fun. Now they live together with their 10 dogs, their bottle calf “Norma”, a few barn cats, Erin the goat, sheep and a field full of cattle. You never know what animal will be added next.
On Christmas Eve 2024, before they left for the airport to spend the holidays with his family, August asked Laurie to marry him. She was shocked, surprised and said YES!
And that’s how we got here, a wedding!
We can’t wait to celebrate our big day with the people we love most.

We ask that you kindly refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. We have a professional photographer capturing the special moments, and we'd love for everyone to be fully present.
Feel free to take photos during the reception!
ARE KIDS INVITED?
We love your little ones! However, we’ve decided to make our wedding an adults-only celebration. This allows all our guests to relax and enjoy the evening without distractions. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to treat yourself to a fun night out!
